Five For Friday {Spring Break Edition}

 I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs for her Five for Friday linky.  I have officially been on spring break for 2 hours now and each minute so far has been delightful...  Only 30 school days left until SUMMER break... just sayin'...
1)  Found this on Pinterest over the last week and pinned it to my CHUCKLE board.  It is so true, right?  Have I mentioned how excited I am about summer break?  I always sign up for summer school, etc.... but NOT this year.  This summer I am going to concentrate on relaxing and spending time with my M1 and M2.

2)  You know how I've talked about some days being harder than others?  Today marks month three since I delivered and buried my baby girl.  I am hoping that as the months go by... that I won't be so mindful when the 5th happens.  I will tell you that as I get closer to May.... my level of anxiety and sadness increases.  There are some days that I feel completely paralyzed by my own thoughts.  Not sure if this is normal... and navigating these waters has been really, really hard.
3)  I know the buzzy creatures have a job to do... I get that...  I'm just saying that I feel like I am bathing in pollen.  My car is covered...  There were at least 2 days this week where I probably looked like a drug addict with my scratching all over, agitation, runny nose {and stopped up at the same type... what is that all about?}, along with that glazed Benadryl look!  I take the Zyrtec D each day to try to look like a normal human, but sometimes the pollen wins!

4)  It is spring break and we are doing a "stay-cation"... you know... a vacation where you stay at home :)  I am hoping to fill each day with fun things for my boys though locally.  Hoping to catch a matinee, take them to the pottery painting place, spring/summer shoe buying excursion, lunch at Chic Fila, etc.

5)  I have made  a HUGE to-do list for this week.  Do y'all make lists?  I make them constantly... I think it helps make me feel somewhat organized.  I have a grocery list, house list, school list, etc.  I am OK if I don't get everything accomplished... just want to be fully present this week.  I am going to be back soon to blog about making ice cream with my firsties this week (they proclaimed it the best day EVER!) and also getting my supplies ready to do the Wizard of Oz next year...  here is the start of my efforts :)
I hope that you all have a FAB weekend and that it will go by slowly!  Be back soon...

  6. Stacy,
    First on a happy note - I am now following your Chuckle board, too. We all need a good laugh from time to time!
    Second, a little not so happy. I am so sorry that you are going through this process. I have 2 angel babies in heaven and I think about the "what ifs" from time to time. It used to be all the time, but as time passed it would take "something" to bring me to that place. When you experience that kind of loss, it can change you in ways you don't realize. For me, it has made me realize how very blessed I am and I have learned not to take anything for granted, {{{hugs}}}!

  7. Stacy, you are most definitely in my prayers today. I am sure it will get easier, but know that it's completely normal to have those feelings. You write with sunshine in your voice - your positive attitude will help you heal those tough wounds. Enjoy every minute of your Spring Break!

  8. maybe this comment will help you and someone else. I taught psychology for 6 years and I always had a grief counselor come and talk. she was great and helped us to understand how to help someone whop is dealing with grief. Please know that what you are experiencing is normal! Have you meet with a grief counselor or read a book on miscarriages? There are some great ones on amazon. As soon as we acknowledge that we are pregnant we plan that babies WHOLE Life and that is what you have too grieve for. Are you aware of the "stages" of grief? they just help to let you know
    you are normal.]

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and sadness that opens others up so you can help them as well. You will be in my prayers and I am so sorry for your loss.

    here is a book preview that is on amazon
    I Never Held You speaks to the heart of women, their families and friends who have either lived through the pain & grief after miscarriage, or who want to better support someone who has. Author Ellen M. DuBois shares her own painful journey after miscarriage taking you from her darkest moments of grief, despair, isolation, anxiety, fear and depression to the steps she took towards healing and recovery. Her suggestions prove to be helpful in balancing the emotional peaks and valleys after suffering such a heartbreaking loss. I Never Held You validates your grief after losing a baby to miscarriage, and assures you that you're not alone in your struggle. With the help of contributing author Dr. Linda Backman, Ed.D., licensed grief counselor, psychologist and author, you'll come to better understand grief- and why it's so important to allow yourself the time necessary to heal. If you're looking for help and support after miscarriage, or want to help someone how has miscarried, this is the book for you. Companion website: MiscarriageHelp.com

    You don't have to publish this comment I'm not offended and I hope you know I'm just give you resources if you don't have them. <3
