A TpT Flash Sale.... Who Knew?

Hey, y'all!  Yesterday Teachers Pay Teachers hit 100,000 likes on Facebook and to celebrate... they announced a flash sale.  If you use code FB100K then you will save 10%.... but that's not all... a ton of TpT sellers are also throwing a sale to maximize the savings.  I am excited about shopping from my wishlist!!!
My fall break is coming to an end today...  gotta remember to set my alarm for tomorrow morning {weeping}.  It was a good break though...  lots of fun with my own kidlets!  When they went down for the night... I got busy creating for my class and also uploaded some things to TpT.  Check out what I've been up to below!
Let's Talk Turkey has 3 informational passages (1 for Native Americans, 1 for Pilgrims, and 1 Thanksgiving Then and Now)... each passage has comprehension questions.  There are also graphic organizers and themed writing papers.
I may possibly have recruited my own personal 2nd grader to try it out... just for quality assurance!  Hey... the kids around here have to earn their keep, right?
I also added a bat craft freebie...  The kids and I also had fun making these...  Click the picture to head to my TpT store and download it for free.  Be sure to follow my store so that you can catch on the freebies coming up over the next few holidays!
Last, but not least... my Elf Graphtivity... the best chance to combine math, writing, and art!  Click the picture below to check it out!
One of my friends gave it to her daughter to try out... she made this elf and attached it to her Christmas list and stuck it to the fridge!  What a thoughtful kid.... bwahaha!
I hope that y'all have had a great weekend... and that today will go by super slowly.  I have already counted how many school days until our week off at Thanksgiving...  it is still really crazy that we're already 1/2 way thru October!  Seriously...  I am already buying Christmas presents!  Holy wrapping paper, Batman!  I digress...  be sure to check out the sale today on TpT... and I'll talk to y'all soon!

Oh Snap... It's Currently OCTOBER {and also HUMP DAY!}

Surely I can't be the only one who LOVES the Geico camel hump day commercial.  I maybe watch every Wednesday with my class.  My own personal kidlets also love it!  Ok... let's be REAL...  I feel like I have developed adult ADHD since school has started.  Some days I am honestly impressed that I even get all of us to school, in clothes, bathed and back in bed.  All the stuff that happens in the middle just seems like a blur.  I mean... HOW the heck is it already October?  That being said... please indulge me on this ADHD ride!  This post is going to slightly random, but showcasing LOTS of different things including a MASSIVE amount of giveaways and prizes.  First thing first... I'm linking up with Farley for this month's currently!
Listening: the the kiddos laughing while watching Cartoon Network.  Our school day is over, their homework is done... I have signed their planners, checked their papers, etc.  No soccer today {and the congregation says AMEN!}.

Loving: that we are on fall break next week.  That's right... we have been in school almost 50 days and we have NO school all next week.  I don't even have plans, but I am excited about the prospect of laying around in my pajamas, scouring Pinterest, eating late breakfast, grocery shopping leisurely... you get the point!  It's still warm enough here that we might even head to the beach for the day...

Thinking: that adult life sure is complicated.  I think I've been watching too much news.  It is hard to find a balance between knowing what's going on with the world and our country... and just needing to turn it off.... and tune out!  My life feels very complicated recently... hoping to slow down and regroup next week!

Wanting:  a laundry clone.  It isn't even that we have a crazy amount of laundry... it's just that it never feels DONE!  Soccer 3x a week means constant stinky socks {bleh}.  I don't even mind washing and drying the clothes, but MAN... I hate putting the laundry away.  Anyone else struggle with that last part?

Needing: to refill my stash of candy corn.  I sure do love this candy.  A lot of people don't really care for it.... and I don't eat it any other time of the year, but it screams OCTOBER to me!  Do you love it or hate it?

Treat:  I just discovered Stitch Fix and I am in love.  I will certainly have to do a blog post about it soon, but in the meantime... If you're in the market for some clothes to come straight to your door... that are handpicked for YOU... then check them out HERE!  Here's some of what came in my Stitch Fix box this month!  Eeeek!  :)
OK... so are you ready for the ADHD part and all the giveaways, etc. that I mentioned?  Me, too!  First up... I am so excited to be a part of the MONSTERous giveaway over at the Primary Chalkboard.  Seriously... there is a 1st grade bundle, a 2nd grade bundle, a fire safety bundle... then clipart, pencil sharpeners, and a bag that is to DIE for.  Oh... and a chair pocket and BUNTING!  Who doesn't love bunting?  Right?
Seriously... isn't it GORGEOUS?  I'm jealous {in advance} of whoever wins this tote!!!   from Ooh Baby Designs.  Check out all the cool stuff she has in her Etsy store.

I am also teaming up with Tara (my real life friend) over at ...and they all fall down to do a fall giveaway.  We are both donating fall products and including a $20 Starbucks card ... perfect for filling up with Pumpkin Spice Lattes (we both indulge often... notice the coffee in our hands below in the rafflecopter?!?!  Tara is giving away these 2 products:

and... from me:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Thanks for going along with me on my ADHD adventure.  I hope that you will have an evening of fun checking out all the links and giveaways... and good luck!  I hope one of my readers will be lucky enough to win that bag {did I mention how jealous I am already?}  Talk to y'all soon!

Well, That's Random

Happy Monday, y'all!  ... and how many days until Friday?  I swear that some Mondays feel truly like 2 days put together.  Today's post is just a bunch of random thoughts... I haven't done a Five for Friday post or anything fun lately... so indulge me!

OK... I love Pinterest {have I mentioned that before?}.  Seriously... it's an addiction.  Well awhile back I decided to carry through on some of the things that I had pinned.  I finally did one that I had been thinking of for a long time...  I give you Exhibit A:
That's right... casual Fridays just got a bit more classy!  Bwahaha!  As soon as I picked up my jeans... I gave the girl the next few orders of things that I wanted desperately needed monogrammed.  I'm telling ya... Pinterest... it's like visual crack!  If you are wanting a new crack buddy {um... totally joking} and would like to follow me on Pinterest... click HERE!  I don't disappoint!

OK... up next.  Have I ever mentioned that I am a couponer.  Not quite like the people on the show that use to come on TV... but it is a game to try to figure out just how much I can save on our weekly grocery budget.  I started getting serious about coupons a few years ago when we were furloughed and my paycheck went down by a few hundred dollars each month.  I needed to find a way to cut some corners.  Enter COUPONS.  Actually enter Southern Savers.  That website was a life changer for me.  I stopped couponing when my life got messy earlier this year, but I am finally starting to find my groove again!  Exhibit B:
I swung my Starbucks... and armed with caffeine... I went to Bi-Lo (alone... yippee!) and was able to save almost $91 on this week's groceries.  This is with laundry, dairy, fruit, meat, boys' lunch stuff, etc.  It isn't the most I have saved... but I am happy to be saving again.  Check the website out... she does coupon match-ups for like 10 grocery stores as well as CVS, Walgreens, etc.

This weekend marked the beginning of fall... can I get an AMEN!?!?!  Seriously... south Georgia is so flippin' hot 9 months out of the year.  So I did what any southerner does... I started decorating... even though it is HOT.  Exhibit C:
.... and how else did our family mark the beginning of fall?  That's right... we headed to the beach for the day.  We went out for lunch and then strolled on the beach for awhile.  The boys were happy to dig in the sand and search for shells.  I was happy to truly be enjoying my Sunday.  It was more about enjoying them... than dreading lesson plans,etc.  Exhibit D:
Speaking of lesson plans... one thing that made my week easier was this pack from Lisa over at Learning is Something to Treasure.  Exhibit E:
Seriously... y'all... this is over 300 pages of word work.... and my firsties NEED the practice.  I have my mats laminated and they LOVE them.  Easy to print... and easy for the kiddos to understand!  There have been lots of Aha {lightbulb!} moments and a sense of empowerment that the kids seem to have.  The clipart is super cute and inviting.  I could go on and on.  I love that it's so easy to set up... I'm all about convenience! That pack is part of the Educents Deal that is going on this week.  Have you checked it out yet?  Click the picture below to find out more!  It's 18 packs... for less than $1.50 each.
Also... don't forget about the Pin It To Win It giveaway that I am doing... you get the chance to win any product from my store!  Yippee!  Click HERE to check out the giveaway!  Good luck... and I hope you have a great week.  Talk to y'all soon!

Ok... I actually missed my bloggy birthday... it was a few days back... but holy cannoli .... Funky Fresh Firsties has turned 1.....  woot!  I was so nervous to start this venture last year....  worried that I would have nothing to write about or that people wouldn't be interested in what I had to say.  This blog has been one of the best things I have done during my professional career fo' sho'! :)  .... and they like me... they really like me.

Holy Moly... It's September, Batman!

I don't even know how this happened!?!  September?  I could've sworn it was just like April or something.  That being said... this chick LOVES fall.  It is my most favoritest season in the history of ever.The temperature here in south Georgia usually falls below 163, 624 degrees... there is football, the fair {funnel cakes....woot}, Halloween, pumpkins, pecans...  it's just a whole lot of fun wrapped up in these months. I am  linking up with Farley to get in on the Currently fun.  ....... and here goes:
 My boys had one of their first real sleepovers last night since we are off today.  They were so excited.  They stayed up until 10 playing Mine Craft {do your kids love this game, too?  i kinda don't get the fascination}, watching Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, eating ice cream, and having sporadic Nerf gun wars.  Yep, ladies... livin' the dream over here! :)

Next up... my toes.  You wouldn't think that your toes should make you this happy... but I give you exhibit A:
I go for a pedicure every 2 weeks...a tradition I started when I was first pregnant with M1 and couldn't reach my toes.  I decided this was a tradition to keep up.  Being the only girl in the house has its advantages!

Thinking:  I'm stuck in love/hate limbo with back to school.  I love it... I truly do... the setting up of the classroom, the organizing, etc.  But the beginning of a school year is exhausting... this is only year 12 for me, but there has to be something I can do to alleviate some of the stress.... I'm open for ideas!  Friday was day 22 for us...

Wanting a getaway... not some huge extravagant type thing....  just some away time over a weekend.  I'm going to start looking online for places within a few hours of here that we could escape go to!

Needing: shampoo.... OK... I don't really need to drive to Savannah today for shampoo.  BUT I am excited about grabbing my friend and heading to Ulta.  I don't even wear a lot of make-up... but I love that place.  I'm going to enjoy this day off as much as possible... then I"m gonna drag myself back tonight to write lesson plans {grrrrr}

<3 :  Color Run with my girls at the end of this month in Atlanta!!!  I don't even run, but I am excited about the experience.... and really excited about going to IKEA.  There are 6 of us on our team....  our team name: Six in the City {insert happy face}
I had electrolysis for the first time last month and I go again this week.  I am so stinkin' excited about not having to shave under my arms... like EVER again.  Not that its a crazy hassle... but EVER again!!!  Last on my list is to pay it forward...  I could never have the life I do now without the kindness of others...  I'm excited about trying to pay some of that forward this month.  My focus is primarily going to be college students...

I hope that y'all will have an AMAZING day off today...  also, have you entered for the Silhouette machine from my friend (IRL) the Extra Energetic Educator?  It ends in 2 days... so quick... head over and enter!!!  Click on the pic below to head her way!  Talk to y'all soon!
