It's Currently May...

Woohoo... we made it!  It's finally May.  Not much longer now, peeps!  I'm linking up with Farley for the May Currently...
Listening:  it's Sunday morning and I'm chilling on the couch.  TV is off, sipping my coffee and my small humans are still sleeping!  I think they've finally reached the age where they realize the merits of sleeping in on the weekends.  We had a full day of shopping and playing yesterday and there were TIRED!

Loving:  I have been watching Married at First Sight on A&E and I'm in love.  This is the 2nd season (I didn't even realize there had been a 1st season).  But... if you're in the market for a new show... I highly recommend this one.  It's intriguing and entertaining and so much better than I thought it would be.

Thinking:  There are only 19 days of school left until summer vacation.  The last few months have actually gone by pretty fast, but that always seems to be the case after Christmas.  The last day with students is the 29th and then we have to go back a few days for post-planning and then HELLO summer vacay!

Wanting:  To go skydiving.  There is a place locally that does it.  I am thinking I may go next weekend when the boys are with their dad!  Wish me luck... can't wait to share pics!

Needing:  A tan.  Y'all...  this girl is pasty!  My friend and I leave for our annual beach trip the week after school is out and I am not ready.  I need to work on this and soon... or I'm going to look like a lobster after the first day!

Summer Yes, Hope, Dream:  I am so excited to go to Vegas again this summer.  Last year we had a blast (Read:  New Kids on the Block concert)... and I'm sure this year will be even more of a blast.  My hope is to organize the house and simplify stuff... throw out stuff that has no meaning, etc.  My dream is to be more spontaneous and open to what happens.  I am such a list maker and planner... and this can be a bad thing sometimes.  I am excited to throw caution to the wind (a little bit), go out on first dates, stay up too late, take road trips, and see what happens!

It's Currently March

It's March 1st, peeps... crazy, right?  February is a short month and goes by fast... pretty excited from a paycheck standpoint!  Just sayin'...  So, it's time to link up with Farley for the Currently phenomenon...  here goes:
Listening:  to my kiddos playing in the tub.  This weekend was with their daddy so I had a weekend solo.  While it's nice to have a tiny bit of quiet, it's also hard to be here for too long in the quiet... or go to church alone.  Just a weird feeling to have them away from me.
Got up early today and ran some errands, then grabbed coffee and headed to church.  No one to shush or remind to be quiet.  I didn't have to find anyone's page in their hymnal, or hunt for quarters for the offering plate... just a new different feeling.

Loving: that tomorrow is a teacher workday.  Sure, there are a few conferences and maybe even some PD thrown in there, but my body will be in jeans.  I can brew a pot (or 2) of coffee and go to the bathroom WHENEVER I want.  I'm excited to grade and sort some papers, prepare materials for this week, and Clorox wipe ALL the things!

Thinking:  of my to-do list.  It's categorized, y'all!  There's a house to-do, school to-do, TpT to-do, gifted endorsement to-do.... AGHHHH!  Last week I posted a picture on Instagram of a short to-do list paper clipped to a big to-do list... the struggle is real.  I think that there is so much going on in my head that I'm afraid I'll forget it if I don't write it down.  I have always been a list maker, but I think I'm starting to envy people who don't.  Something to consider I suppose...
next TpT project
See... a list on a list
Wanting: a set of lockers (or maybe 5) for my kitchen wall to use as storage for lots of different things.  I love the industrial vibe in houses.  If you follow me on Pinterest... then you've seen my HOME board and know that about me already.  I don't like cookie cutter things.  I also really, really want an old library card catalog.  I have found a few on Craigslist, but am super scared of being killed by a serial killer who is pretending to sell things online.  Also, they're uber-expensive.  So, there's that...

Needing: to do my taxes.  Womp, womp, womp.

Spring break plans:  I think I might get braces over spring break.  I have an appointment later this month for my consult then we'll go from there.  Braces at 35... why not?  ;)  Also my entire family lives in east TN (currently snowing) and so maybe by spring break I can head that way to see my peeps.  How beautiful is this picture?  Yes, I think a road trip might be just what I need!

I hope that you will have an amazing week.  Talk to y'all soon!

It's Currently February...

How is it already February?  The last month or 2 have really sped by...  won't be long and summer break will be here!  I'm really gifted at summer vacay, y'all!  :)  So... what am I "currently" up to?  I'm linking up with Farley to share...
Listening: to my kiddos playing and laughing on the trampoline with their friends.  They just got home from their weekend with their dad.  Can't believe that my "baby" is 7 years old.  On the day he was born I pulled into the school parking lot and had my first contraction... the school bookkeeper had to drive me to the hospital and I was already almost completely dilated.  Crazy day for sure!
Loving: I did my 1st food prep today.  I made enough to last almost all week long.  I did a breakfast scramble for breakfast, chicken and spaghetti squash for lunch, steak and sweet potato mash for dinner.  I need to do better and was excited to try something new.  It was the first time I had ever cooked a spaghetti squash... and even the first time I had ever cooked a steak.  Crazy, right?

Thinking:  of all the things that need to get done.  Trying to find balance in my new circumstances.  My divorce has been final for a month now.  The boys and I have moved and I'm trying to make this house feel more like "home"...  full time teaching, TpT, and working on my gifted endorsement.  I feel like I"m not doing well with any of it.  I have decided that I will think ahead, but that I'm mostly going to take it day by day... and allow myself some grace while I navigate.

Wanting: for it to be summer already.  I am so ready for some extended time off, a tan, etc.  I already have a week at the beach planned out.... and super STOKED for the TpT Vegas conference in July!  125 days til the beach trip (me, 2 girlfriends and their small humans, and a babysitter)... and only 158 days til Vegas!
Needing: a clone of myself... see that part above and all that is going on.  I would like to clone myself, but maybe she could have her JUNK together... and get it done for the both of us.  Maybe she could go grocery shopping, write lesson plans, and vacuum?  Maybe?  ;)

Pageant title: Introverted Princess ...  how funny would that be?  I was in a pageant once when I was in middle school and I won...  looking back I looked hilarious.  Guess it's a good thing I have boys now... not sure I would know what to do with little girls!

Hope y'all have a great week...  I haven't been so good with blogging consistently, but I do update my FB page pretty often with freebies, jokes, and interesting links.  Have you stopped by yet?  Talk to y'all soon!

HELLLLLO 2015

Y'all, I haven't written anything on this blog in awhile... it's been hectic 'round these parts.  I am excited to see this year end and am optimistic about what 2015 might bring for me and my small humans.  I'm linking up with Farley for her January Currently... here's what I'm currently up to:

Listening:  to House Hunters International...  man, I love HGTV.  I always try to figure out which house the people will pick, but I am usually wrong.  Guess what works for me isn't true about them :)  The International one is even more intriguing... I love looking at the different houses in amazing countries... I should travel more!
Loving:  my boys and our new family of 3.  I don't know what this is supposed to look like yet.  Not sure what divorce looks like for us...  we have moved into a new house and are navigating it together.  For now we have a safe place to live, internet (finally), DirecTV, groceries, and each other.  I have been surrounded by friends this last week and have felt so loved.
Thinking: about way too many things.  I keep rewriting my to-do list.  Just when I think I've got everything done... I think of 10 more things to write down.  I am only getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night so writing stuff down is WAY important.  I am normally a list maker anyways, but certainly more right now.

Wanting:  my pink eye to go away.  Seriously, what teacher gets PINK EYE over break?  I went to the doctor yesterday and got drops, but I still look kinda crazy!  I just want to keep my sunglasses on all day so people can't see me!  I know it will pass, but DANG...  PINK EYE?!?!

Needing:  a new coffeepot... any recommendations?  Y'all know I love coffee... plain or fancy.  What kind of coffee pot do I need?  I also need a new welcome mat.  I have looked on Amazon, but not sure where else to look for something fun and whimsical...  maybe even witty ;)  If you know of somewhere... leave me a comment!  I'm also needing some sleep... so if you find some extra ---> send it my way!

Yes, Maybe, Wish: Yes, to loving myself.  For me that looks like Crossfit, healthier choices, working on my gifted endorsement, and allowing myself some grace when I fail.  Maybe I will buy a house.  For now we will live in our happy rented home while I get my ducks in a row and figure out what our family of 3 needs.  But maybe it would be nice to start over!  Wish:  I would love to find a way to pay off my student loan.  It is the one thing that I angst over the most it seems... like this looming thing... always.  If I won the lottery... it would be the first thing I would do... pay that baby off!

I hope that you will have an amazing night and that you will wake up tomorrow ON FIRE with plans of awesomeness.  Can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for all of us!

Currently December

It's Currently November {Gobble, Gobble, Y'all}

I always say "Ain't no tired like a back to school teacher tired!" Well folks...  that has carried over into now November.  I'm just TIRED.  I didn't even have the energy to link up to Currently last month.  I know I am not alone.  The other teacher moms are nodding in agreement....  just tired!  BUT I am linking up with Farley this month... YES I am!  :)

Listening: to my boys talk about zombies.  They are obsessed.  To be completely fair... I am, too!  I love The Walking Dead and it comes on in a few hours (eeeek!)  Do you watch every Sunday, too?  This season really started off with a bang!

Loving: the cooler weather.  In south Georgia it is usually really warm on Halloween and even Thanksgiving.  This colder weather has been really nice.  Not cold enough for snow here, but def scarf and long sleeve weather!

Thinking: there are only 15 days of school before break.  If I get specific though... one of those days is a teacher workday (woot!) and I am taking a personal day with my friend to go Christmas shopping and just have a girls' day for a change!  I'm ready to get my Santa on, y'all!

Wanting:  a pair of Hunter wellies {swoon}...  these will be my Christmas present to myself I think.  I've been very good.....  Santa thinks I'm legit... now to decide what color.  Do I go with a practical color (brown/black) or do I get funky (turquoise/pink)?!?!?!
Needing:  new workout clothes.  So part of the reason I have been absent from here has been school...  and my boys take karate everyday.... BUT I have been doing Crossfit and trying to make healthier choices with my food.  I have now been caffeine free for a month.  No daily morning Starbucks run...  no Pepsi with lunch and dinner.  I am so excited to see results and I am feeling really motivated right now.  I like lifting heavy things and the sore feeling the next day... I am taking baby steps, but haven't felt this mentally strong in a long time!

Reading:  It Starts With Food...  it is a great book and I am learning a lot.  I am going to try the Whole30 soon and can't wait to see what my body can do.

So... there you have it.  I am still here and trucking along... just trying to spend less time on my computer and even less time working on TpT things and more time working on ME!  Maybe one day I will be brave enough to post pictures of my progress!  I hope that November has found you all healthy and inching closer to Thanksgiving break!  Talk to y'all soon!

It's Currently September... Like For Reals

Hey y'all... Stacy here.... linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for this month's Currently.  Can you even believe that it's already September?  Like the big man in the red suit will be here in less than 4 months!  For reals, y'all!  :)  Without further ado...
Listening:  To my children ooooh and ahhhh over our new bearded dragon!  He is still without a name.  I am so excited to take him to school this week so the kids can see.  We bought him Saturday night… family trip.  I was able to afford this cutie and his habitat through the Pets in the Classroom grant.  He sure is a hungry guy… lots of crickets, worms, and collard greens!  We have all been fascinated this weekend!

Loving: That today is Labor Day and having an extra day to decompress!  We started school with students on August 1st so we have been in school for a month as of today.  Technically we have finished 21 days.  How crazy is that?  My crew really is sweet, but the beginning of the school year is hard, y’all!  Right?  Who’s with me… ‘cause I’m kinda exhausted!

Thinking: About all the things on my to-do list that I really need to get done.  ‘Cause it’s long, y’all… and I just keep adding to it.  Otherwise I can’t remember anything it feels like.  There's school stuff, home stuff, and magnet stuff...  have you seen the latest magnet goodness on Instagram?  Check out these beauties:

Wanting: The weather to cool off… just a teensy bit.  We can’t go outside when the heat index is over 100 and August in south Georgia is hot.  Like blistering hot.  So… I’m ready for some 70ish degree weather.  Maybe some jeans & long sleeve t-shirt weather.
Needing:  To be more motivated with my walking and eating better.  I keep saying it, but I haven’t been following through & it shows!

3 Trips:  Australia, Fiji, and Puerto Rico... all tropical... are you sensing a pattern here?  :)  Stress relief people... it's all about the stress relief!

I hope that you all are enjoying your long weekend and getting lots of rest... getting to spend this time with your favorite people!  Talk to y'all soon!

Wait... It's July... Like Currently?

Wowza... it's July?  Oh.  Heck.  No!  I have to go back to work in July....  hmmmm...
The good news is I have a few more weeks... better enjoy those, huh?  So, it's currently July and I'm going to link up with Farley to join in on the fun.  Here goes...
Listening: to a quiet house... everyone is asleep.  Farley posted this... and I got busy!  Yay for quiet time!

Loving: that summer is still going strong.  That being said… my summer comes to an end on July 25th which is my first day back to work.  Students start here on August 1st.  The boys and I have been enjoying the water park a lot and lots of time with friends.
Thinking:  about going to Las Vegas in a week….  EEEEEK, I am so stinkin’ excited.  I get to hang with some of my bloggy besties.  We are even going to the New Kids on the Block concert.  This girl is READY!
Wanting:  my surgery on Wednesday to go smoothly and quickly.  I have female organs that have an attitude!  Jokes aside, I have pretty severe endometriosis and ovarian cysts.  It hurts to sit down most days (TMI maybe?) … so it’s time for yet another scope.  I covet your prayers if you’re the praying type.
Needing: to go work in my classroom.  I have decided on a theme which is different than what I have done in the past and I’m really excited.  I have been shopping, but I really want to get in there and get BUSY!
So this picture from Schoolgirl Style is my inspiration.  I already used blue and lime this year...and I love anchors... VOILA!  I am so excited about trying to pull it altogether.  Fingers crossed... and I will certainly be posting pictures at the end of July once I'm done.  {stay tuned}
Here's what I've got going so far:  I've stopped at Home Goods (BOOM!!), Hobby Lobby, and TJ Maxx.  I ordered the navy polka dot and lime border from Schoolgirl Style's shop.
Gotta get some navy and lime magnets from Tea and Coffee... I have the teal and lime, but I think I need a darker blue for this year.  I know that I have more shopping to do.... but I'm stoked at what I have going so far!

4th Plans:  Hoping to feel well enough to go watch my boys do a karate demo at the county fireworks show.  Fingers crossed.  Hope y'all have an amazing 4th with your families!  Talk to y'all soon!

It's Currently June

Hiya, peeps!  Soooo, I'm like 5 days late on my Currently.... better late than never, right?  I actually did my Currently last night, but then my ZzzQuill kicked in.  Love that stuff!  My kiddos are at vacation bible school and I am enjoying a horizontal life pause on the couch.  I have already been to the grocery store, started the laundry, and dinner is in the crockpot!  {and mom for the WIN!!!}  I'm linking up with Farley so I can get in on the fun... and here we GO:
Listening: my my boys play Stratego with their dad.  I'm not even gonna pretend I know anything about that game.  It sounds like a lot of thought is needed to play... and I'm not down with thinking right now.  Yep, your dad can totally play with you.

Loving: that it's summer break and my boys are having some Jesus time each morning.  While they are there... it gives me about 2.5 hours to get as much done as possible.  I am a to-do list NINJA this week.  I've been making returns, shopping, cleaning, organizing, etc.

Thinking: about going to the beach...  now it's only 9 days away.  We go to the same beach every year.  Me, 2 of my girlfriends, our children, and a babysitter {for an extra set of eyes near the water}.  It is my favorite place on this planet.  It's a private island and is also a wildlife preserve.  Everyone rides around on golf carts... there is literally nothing to do but go to the beach or the pool... no Starbucks, no fast food, no outside diversions.  I am my best self when I am there.  I am so stinkin' excited!  The girls and I are planning on getting up early each morning and walking with the sea turtle crew to look for nests again this year (eeeek!)
Wanting: to raise enough money for a headstone for a 1st grader at my school who recently passed away from Leukemia.  He fought this horrible disease for a year.  His medical bills and funeral costs didn't leave much money left for a headstone.  This is where Teachers Pay Teachers comes in.  I had almost 50 of my bloggy/TpT friends donate to different bundles in the Resting Place for Aaron store.  There are bundles for EVERYONE....  k-2 math, k-2 ela, 3-5 math/science, 3-5 ela/ss, a back to school/end of year bundle, and a bundle of extras (with teacher planners, clip art, etc.).  Aaron was an amazing young man... and he deserves an amazing resting place where his family and friends can go visit.  Please go check out the bundles... I promise you won't be disappointed.  The store will only be open for the month of June so HURRY!  You can watch a video about Aaron HERE!
Needing: to make a plan for next year.  I have stacks... you know... very important stacks all over my room.  I really want to be more organized with my electronic files that I make/buy from TpT.  But I also really want to file my worksheets, etc. by standard.  I just didn't do a very good job of that this year.  And now I have STACKS!

Summer bucket list:  I talked about my long summer bucket list HERE...  but the main 3 are to be fully present.  I am really enjoying each day with my kiddos, whether we are at home chilling out, at the local water park, going on vacation, etc.  I just want to be fully present.  I really need to go to the gym.  I took the first step the other day and renewed my membership... now I just need to be consistent and GO.  The last part is to finish some crafty things that I have been wanting to do.  I really want to etch our last name onto all my casserole dishes.  I also want to spray paint some lockers that I bought, and redo our front door.  Fingers crossed!  :)

I hope that your June has been amazing so far!  Talk to y'all soon!  <3

Everyday I'm Hustlin'

Hey.... It's Maaaay!  Also known as the HUSTLIN' month!  Right?  School ends for us on May 23rd (16 more days of school) and man...everyday has something fairly BIG going on.  I'm taking a few minutes out to link up with Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade {love her}.  Here's what I'm "Currently" up to!
Listening:  to the mental to-do list running in my head over and over... but with House Hunters playing in the background.  I'm trying to get all those thoughts on paper so I won't forget anything, but I know it's inevitable.

Loving: that there are only 16 more days of school til summer break.  I love my job and I love my class {truly} ... but I am really looking forward to sleeping in, having a flexible schedule, spending more time with my boys, beach trips, and my Vegas trip with a bunch of bloggy friends!  Teachers in our county report back for pre-planning the last week of July so I plan on truly relaxing and letting loose while I can... it goes by super duper fast!

Thinking: about other moves that I need to do to become healthier.  I recently got a Fit Bit about a month ago and my goal has been to try to get to 10K steps each night and drink 1/2-1 gallon of water each day.  I can't drink that much during the day b/c I can't easily get to the bathroom that often w/o inconveniencing others.  I have a few friends with a Fit Bit and we compete with steps each week and can cheer each other on.  It's been really cool this week to watch it help motivate me to get out and walk.  I feel like I need to try to regain back some of what I've lost over the last year or so.  If you've followed me for awhile you know that I delivered a baby girl almost 1/2 way through my pregnancy last year.  In this past year I have gained 30 pounds and I feel like I am just now at the point where I'm able to address it mentally and emotionally.  Wish me luck...

Wanting: I really, really want some new Tory Burch sandals.  These are the ones I want.  And to be honest... I think they want to live with me, too!  :)  Maybe if I can meet my first weight loss goal I can buy them for myself.
Needing: to plan my almost 8 year old's birthday party!  I can't believe that my baby boy is almost 8 (at the end of this month).  He is in 2nd grade this year and school comes naturally to him.  He is empathetic and he loves his mom.  Michael {M1} is super tech savvy, loves seafood, and has his daddy's crazy hair!

Surprise:  You've got to go follow my friend, the Extra Energetic Educator on Facebook.  She shares the best cross grade level freebies every single Sunday... so selfless and a FAB teacher.  Run  to her page now so you can check out her Sunday Freebie Roundup!
I hope that your week has been amazing so far.  Hopefully your May is also off to a great start!  Talk to y'all soon!!!
